I need a journal for lists!

I have spoken about this before…short term memory loss and oncoming Menopause, but today…I have just found one of my lists (I tend to lose them…write these wonderful lists and then can’t remember where I have put them!)

What is at the top of this list I hear you ask?

” Buy a journal, to stop losing lists”

Well, what I great idea! Have I bought the journal, no, because I lost the list and forgot to buy the journal! So, now, what should I do? Do I go into work late this morning and buy a journal enroute? Will I remember to buy it once I get to the shop?

Oh, once upon a time I could walk around with large lists in my head…now…I walk into a room and completely forget why I went in there in the first place! This is getting out of control! Does this stop after menopause?

Dr Miriam Weber, a neuropsychologist at the University of Rochester Medical Centre, who led one study, said the findings would strike a chord with millions of women going through the menopause – Memory difficulties are one of the most common symptoms for women in their late 40s and early 50s, she said, a transition stage known as perimenopausal.

So, what is the good news then? Well, apparently, the study found it is not linked to depression or sleep problems and the effects are unlikely to be permanent.

That’s great news isn’t it! Will it help with what is happening to me now? Probably not, I need to actually remember that it won’t be permanent!

Of course, as one MAGS just told me on Twitter, she uses post it notes – which I quite like the idea of – although, my fridge would be a total mess with lists about lists!!

Ok, so I have gone into work today, and already forgotten to buy the journal enroute! NIGHTMARE! I am surprised I have remembered to finish this article!

Therefore, I decided to make a MAGS one…as I am sure I am not the only one with a bit of pre menopausal memory loss!

I have always thought it would be nice to not have so much buzzing around in my head, but actually, I now stress myself out as I always have that feeling that I have forgotten something…good grief!!
